What is it? H1N1 (sometimes referred to as 'swine flu') is a new influenza (flu) virus. It was first detected in people in the United States in April 2009. Like seasonal flu, H1N1 flu in humans can vary from mild to severe, with some cases leading to death. CDC is concerned that it will be around all summer this year.
